A SMALL STUDIO FOR THOUGHTFUL MAKING
Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary has opened inside MAWS Arts and Craft Centre in Jackfield, Ironbridge on 1st July 2026. Part creative retail store and part workshop studio, it is the home of The Creative Nook workshops — a calm, thoughtful space to browse beautiful materials, discover handmade pieces, gather inspiration, and reconnect with your own creative practice.
Harriet Bloom has grown from a love of slow, tactile creativity and the quiet comfort of making things by hand. It is for people who find calm in layering papers, stitching cloth, collecting fragments, keeping memories, and creating something meaningful rather than perfect.
The retail space will offer a carefully selected collection of supplies for journaling, slow stitching, collage, and mixed-media projects, alongside seasonal finds, handmade pieces, and Harriet Bloom’s own curated packs and creative kits. Some items will be made by Netty; others will be thoughtfully chosen because they feel useful, natural, nostalgic, beautiful, or quietly inspiring.
Alongside the shop, The Creative Nook workshops will offer gentle, creative experiences focused on mindful making, seasonal creativity, and creative wellbeing. Together, the store and studio are designed to feel like a small creative sanctuary — a place that encourages you to slow down, notice small details, and create without pressure or urgency.
This is not about perfection or productivity. It is about the pleasure of working with your hands, surrounding yourself with meaningful objects, and making space for calm, creativity, and reflection in everyday life.

The Creative Nook Workshops
Slow Creativity for Calm & Connection
The Creative Nook workshops offer gentle, seasonal creative experiences designed to help you slow down and reconnect through mindful making. From slow stitching and botanical journaling to mixed-media projects and creative rituals, each workshop is centred around creativity, wellbeing, and the simple pleasure of working with your hands in a calm, welcoming space.

Creativity here isn’t about being “good at art.” It’s about giving yourself time, space, and permission to just make.
Core Creative Practices
These are the gentle creative practices that sit at the heart of The Creative Nook.
Each one is designed to support calm, reflection, and a deeper connection to self and season.

Creative
Journaling
Creative journaling that blends observation, reflection, and gentle mixed-media techniques. Each season brings new themes and materials

Slow
Stitching
Rhythmical, hand-stitched processes that encourage focus, presence, and a quiet sense of flow. This is not embroidery, but meditative stitching.

Memory
Keepsakes
Mindful projects, including memory sticks and small keepsakes designed to mark moments, honour the seasons, and create meaning through making.

“ Huge thanks to Netty for creating an incredible crafting session!
We arrived to your workshop unsure of what to expect (and, for me, with very little confidence in my artistic skills), but Netty’s guidance and encouragement turned it into the perfect experience.
She helped us create pieces that reflected our own interests, supported us every step of the way, and made the session, both relaxing and uplifting. We left feeling, proud, refreshed, and reminded of the joy of creativity.
Highly recommend her sessions to anyone, looking for an inclusive,
confidence, building, and restorative experience."
